NFL Wire Notes | Robinson gets electronic tether

GREEN BAY, Wis. — Koren Robinson, Green Bay Packers receiver, will finish a jail sentence by serving the final 45 days on electronic monitoring and working at a hospital.

Robinson, a former Seahawk, was sentenced to 90 days in jail for fleeing police last August in Minnesota when he was with the Vikings. He began serving the sentence March 9 at a facility near Minneapolis.

Robinson was released April 7 to serve the rest of the sentence in Wisconsin.

As part of the monitoring program, Robinson will be allowed to rehabilitate a knee injury and work odd jobs at Bellin Health Care.

Robinson, who is paying about $20 a day for the electronic monitor, was eligible to finish his sentence outside the jail because he was considered a minimum security risk and is a Green Bay resident.

"He has to give the electronic monitoring sergeant a schedule of his activities," Capt. Dave Konrath of the Brown County Sheriff's Department said.

Robinson is also concurrently serving a 90-day jail term that was ordered because the Minnesota chase violated conditions of his probation from a separate drunken-driving conviction in Kirkland last year.

Young gets "Madden" cover

Electronic Arts picked Tennessee Titans quarterback Vince Young to be on the cover of its "Madden 2008" title, the latest version of the popular sports video game.

Last year's edition, with Seahawks running back Shaun Alexander on the cover, sold about 6 million copies.

Young, the NFL offensive rookie of the year, said he isn't worried about the so-called "Madden Curse" The past six players on the cover missed games the following season because of injuries.

"It's no concern for me," Young, 23, said in a telephone interview. "I don't feel like it was the cover. If I happen to get hurt, it happens."
