Four downs with ... Chris Cooper

Seattle Times staff reporter

Height: 6-5. Weight: 285.

Experience: Fifth year.

College: Nebraska-Omaha.

Hometown: Rochester, Minn.

Born: Lincoln, Neb.

What's the worst job you've ever had? "Working at a lumberyard in college. I had to get orders for wood, but they didn't give me a forklift like everyone else had. So I had to walk across the lumberyard, next to the forklift, and help stack the wood on the forklift."

What's your impression of Cheney? "I don't get out much. I'm stuck here, walking around. It's a long walk, that's all I know. I didn't get the bike, figuring I'd just walk. About this time, I wish I had the bike."

What was your first car? "A 1986 Nissan Sentra. It had a lot of problems by the end. The gas gauge broke on it so I had no idea how much gas I had. Sometimes you think those cars can go forever, but really, they don't."

So where's the worst place you've ran out of gas? "I ran out of gas in this huge intersection. I was going up the hill, right next to the intersection, and it runs out of gas while I'm in the wrong lane. I just sat there, and I kept trying to start it. Praying, 'please, please.' It restarted and I got just enough to get to the side."
