Tumblr providing a New York Fashion Week backstage pass

In case you missed it: micro-blogging website Tumblr announced it would send 24 bloggers to New York Fashion Week. And now that the fall shows are underway, Tumblr's #NYFW feed is being fiercely updated.

So if you're bummed about being 3,000 miles from the action, watch the feed to access a variety of standard vertical runway images, backstage photos and insights on what it's like the cover the shows.

If the feed has too much noise, here are the 24 bloggers chosen by Tumblr and links to their specific sites. (Sara Zucker has been a personal favorite for quite some time.)

Tumblr has a growing quality pool of fashion and style blogs, including both independent bloggers and established magazine brands, most likely due to the platform's emphasis on visuals and its easy reblogging feature. Sending independent bloggers is legitimizing Tumblr's presence in the fashion world online and in-real-life.

Tumblr has also created a list of fashion shows that will be live streamed during fashion week.

Other great options to stay updated on Fall 2011 runway shows are Style.com, The Wall Street Journal's Twitter map and The Cut blog on New York Magazine.
