Starbucks will pay Jim Alling, the former president of its international operations, a full year's salary, enough money to cover continuation of his health insurance plans for a year and outplacement services worth up to $14,000.

Alling's salary last year was $600,000.

An 11-year Starbucks veteran who oversaw its dizzying growth in the U.S. until last fall, Alling agreed to confidentiality obligations and reaffirmed his obligations under a noncompetitive agreement, according to a securities filing today.
