Haggen and Top Food stores will give free prenatal vitamins and fluoride supplements to anyone who has a prescription for them beginning June 4.
No insurance plan is required for the handouts. Prenatal vitamins usually cost $8 to $19 a month. Fluoride supplements are recommended for children in homes without a fluoridated water supply and cost about $6 a month.
Bellingham-based Haggen operates 33 stores in Washington and Oregon under the Top Food & Drug, Haggen Food & Pharmacy and Larry's Market names.
