Acclaimed German mixologist Mike Meinke of the famed Triobar in Berlin will be the guest bartender today and Tuesday at Vessel downtown. A collector of rare spirits and a gin connoisseur, Meinke will make forgotten classics and obscure drinks not known to many cocktails fans in the United States.
Many of Meinke's signature drinks "will include genever, an older style of gin that has more earth and body than the common London Dry style," said Vessel's bar manager, Jim Romdall.
His drinks will be discounted during happy hour, 4-6 p.m. He is expected to be behind the bar from 4 p.m. till at least midnight.
Vessel, 1312 5th Ave., Seattle (206-652-0521 or www.vesselseattle.com).
