Catching halibut off North Coast in Canadian waters drops off dramatically


Here is an eye opening change on the northern coastal halibut fishery that used to produce plenty of Canadian caught halibut at Neah Bay.

It seems that purchasing a Canadian fishing license has become more difficult for U.S. anglers to fish in Canadian waters just across from Neah Bay.

Back in 2007, there was 9,977 halibut landed at Neah Bay that were reported caught in Canada waters, and last year it fell to a mere 880 halibut.
