Here is the Reel Time Pacific Northwest fishing and outdoor trivia question of the week:

Impressive returns put this tiny river on the spring chinook fishing map back in the early 1990s, but it also draws some huge crowds of anglers and there are only three consistent fishing holes on a two-mile stretch from the hatchery down to the mouth.

It is one of the longer roads traveled for springers that enter from the ocean at the Columbia River mouth and then make the long journey to this river that flanks the eastern side of the Cascade mountains.

Once state Fish and Wildlife announces an opening usually in late May, the best fishing happens in the few weeks right after, but can be dependent on snow melt too. Where else can you catch a 10 to 25 pound spring king, and then on your way home stop by the nearby town for a bratwurst or two.
