Volunteers sought to clean up the banks of the Skykomish and Skagit rivers
Posted by Mark Yuasa
The Sportsmen for the Preservation of our Rivers and Streams are conducting a cleanup from 9 a.m. to noon this Saturday (Oct. 24) on the Skykomish River at 177th Ave. S.E.
A similar project was held last month on the Puyallup River where more than a ton of garbage and debris was removed from the lower portion of the river.
Rosendo Guerrero, a longtime angler and founder of the new preservation group, is organizing the work party and looking for volunteers to help in this project on the Skykomish, and another scheduled Nov. 7 from 9 a.m. to noon on the Skagit River at LaConner.
Volunteers interested in participating can call 253-861-8964 or email rosendo64@yahoo.com.
