Updated catch results for the coastal ocean sport fishery

The Neah Bay, La Push, and Westport area ocean recreational salmon fisheries are scheduled to close on Sunday, September 20; the Columbia River area ocean fishery is scheduled to close on Wednesday, September 30. A portion of the La Push area will reopen Sept. 26-Oct 11. All areas are expected to reach their automatic closure dates without exceeding their coho sub-area quotas or the coastwide chinook quota.
Here are the coastal ocean salmon sport fishery results compiled by state Fish and Wildlife:
ILWACO
(Coho quota is 96,500, and chinook quota is 5,400)
June 28: 275 anglers with 14 chinook and 469 coho.
June 29-July 5: 2,549 anglers with 178 chinook and 4,257 coho.
July 6-12: 3,066 anglers with 154 chinook and 5,451 coho.
July 13-19: 4,992 anglers with 629 chinook and 8,664 coho.
July 20-26: 4,064 anglers with 276 chinook and 5,915 coho.
July 27-Aug. 2: 7,745 anglers with 742 chinook and 12,935 coho.
Aug. 3-9: 10,263 anglers with 1,698 chinook and 15,976 coho.
Aug. 10-16: 9,699 anglers with 785 chinook and 14,951 coho.
Aug. 17-23: 7,261 anglers with 436 chinook and 8,658 coho.
Aug. 24-30: 3,401 anglers with 236 chinook and 5,214 coho.
Aug. 31-Sept. 6: 202 anglers with 15 chinook and 213 coho.
Sept. 7-13: 1,416 anglers caught 33 chinook and 1,547 coho. Average trip catch per angler is 1.12 for coho and 0.02 for chinook.
Total caught for the season is 5,196 chinook (96.2 percent of the catch quota) and 84,250 coho (87.3 percent of the catch quota).
WESTPORT
(Coho quota is 55,270, and chinook quota is 11,850)
June 28: 777 anglers with 124 chinook and 539 coho.
June 29-July 5: 1,159 anglers with 160 chinook and 676 coho.
July 6-12: 2,222 anglers with 493 chinook and 2,600 coho.
July 13-19: 3,121 anglers with 763 chinook and 2,955 coho.
July 20-26: 3,716 anglers with 675 coho and 4,511 coho.
July 27-Aug. 2: 4,522 anglers with 716 chinook and 5,819 coho.
Aug. 3-9: 4,678 anglers with 547 chinook and 7,689 coho.
Aug. 10-16: 4,065 anglers with 547 chinook and 7,689 coho.
Aug. 17-23: 7,261 anglers with 436 chinook and 8,658 coho.
Aug. 24-30: 3,869 anglers with 384 chinook and 6,589 coho.
Aug. 31-Sept. 6: 1,571 anglers with 86 chinook and 2,777 coho.
Sept. 7-13: 1,844 anglers caught 102 chinook and 3,053 coho. Average trip catch per angler is 1.66 for coho and 0.06 for chinook.
Total caught for the season is 4,977 chinook (42.0 percent of the catch quota) and 50,324 coho (91.1 percent of the catch quota).
LA PUSH
(Coho quota is 7,980, and chinook quota is 950)
June 27-28: 102 anglers with seven chinook and 165 coho.
June 29-July 5: 323 anglers with 43 chinook and 472 coho.
July 6-12: 314 anglers with 33 chinook and 389 coho.
July 13-19: 423 anglers with 80 chinook and 561 coho.
July 20-26: 380 anglers with 40 chinook and 5,20 coho.
July 27-Aug. 2: 627 anglers with 101 chinook and 954 coho.
Aug. 3-9: 787 anglers with 83 chinook and 1,324 coho.

Total caught for the season is 2,437 chinook (110.8 percent of the catch quota) and 13,218 coho (82.1 percent of the catch quota).
COAST WIDE
(Coho quota is 175,950, and chinook quota is 20,500)
Total caught for the season is 154,444 coho (87.8 percent of the catch quota) and 13,151 chinook (64.2 percent of the catch quota) have been caught for the season. Average trip catch per angler is 1.36 for coho and 0.04 for chinook.
