Poll finds Inslee & McKenna tied
After two polls last week showing Republican Rob McKenna with a solid lead over Jay Inslee in the governor's race, a poll released Wednesday finds the race in a dead heat.
Public Policy Polling, a Democratic firm, has Inslee & McKenna knotted up at 42 percent. The poll of 1,264 Washington voters was conducted between Feb. 16 and Feb. 19th and has a margin of effor of plus/minus 2.76 percent.
PPP Director Tom Jensen said the combination of the three recent polls suggests McKenna still has a lead, but perhaps not as large as the two other recent polls reported.
Bottom line - McKenna may be the the best-positioned Republican to win the governor's mansion here in decades, but this is likely to be a close race.
