Recall petition filed against Richard Conlin

Some opponents of the deep-bore tunnel filed a recall petition Tuesday against City Council President Richard Conlin.
Kim van Eckstrom, King County Elections spokeswoman, confirmed the recall petition was filed a little after 1 p.m. Signatures would now need to be gathered to get a recall on the ballot.
Earlier this year, Conlin said he asked City Attorney Pete Holmes to work to block the tunnel referendum from appearing on the Aug. 16 primary ballot. His signed statement was included in the legal briefs filed with the court as part of the referendum lawsuit.
A King County Superior Court Judge ruled this month that one section of agreements between the city and state converning the tunnel could be sent to voters.
