Clint Didier's life as a country song
Posted by Jim Brunner
Hat tip to Jordan SchroederSchrader at the News Tribune for noticing this first today:
Some pals of Republican U.S. Senate candidate Clint Didier have written and recorded a country song about the former NFL tight end. It's called "Hell to Pay" and you can listen to it here. (Or go to Didier's web site.)
Some of the lyrics:
I was born on the farm / I love liberty
Learned to work hard / and I fled (pledge?) to live free
After three Superbowls I'm back home again
To repay the debt / of one American Dream
....
Now I'm coming back / you can bank on that
When I do be looking for a coup
Cause I'm bringing the heat and I wont be beat
There's gonna be hell to pay
....
It's time to restore / our great legacy
He died on the cross / to set us free
And if we must bleed just let it be
If that's what it costs / to reclaim our liberty
....
My name is Clint
Won't you hear my plea
Help 86 take back this great country!
"Hell to Pay," of course, refers to the old nickname for Didier's hometown of Eltopia.
No word yet on whether Didier and Paul Akers will be performing this as a duet at their upcoming joint campaign rallies.
