John Koster launches first TV ad in race against U.S. Rep. Rick Larsen

Posted by

A television ad for congressional candidate John Koster will begin airing Friday and run through the Aug. 17 primary on cable channels in Skagit and Whatcom counties.

Koster, a Republican Snohomish County Council member and three-term state legislator from Arlington, is challenging Democratic incumbent Rick Larsen for the 2nd District seat. You can read more about the race here.

The 30-second ad highlights Koster's theme of preserving the American dream for future generations and promises that the candidate will lower taxes, stop wasteful spending and balance the budget. "John Koster wants to get our families back to work," the voice-over narrator says.

Koster campaign consultant Matt Parker said the ad will introduce voters in the northern portion of the 2nd District to Koster, who is less-well known outside of Snohomish County.

Though June 30 Larsen had raised $1 million and Koster $379,000. Three other candidates, Democrats Larry Kalb and Diana McGinness, and Republican John Carmack, have also filed for Larsen's seat.
