Salazar drops bid for Murray's seat, backs Rossi

Posted by Cathy McLain

Mountlake Terrace chiropractor Sean Salazar has dropped his bid for Patty Murray's U.S. Senate seat and will support Dino Rossi's candidacy, his campaign announced on its website Friday.

"I am not the only candidate who is ready to shake things up back in Washington, D.C., and I consider Dino Rossi to be a friend and the most capable U.S. Senate candidate who will work very hard to help steer this country in the right direction," Salazar said.

Another GOP candidate for the seat, State Sen. Don Benton, dropped out of the race on Thursday. Benton is also backing Rossi.
