Seattle candidate forums tonight at downtown library and in north Seattle
Posted by Jim Brunner
Two candidate forums are scheduled this evening for those who want a chance to see the contenders for Seattle Mayor, City Council and City Attorney up close.
The first is a Seattle City Council candidate forum at the downtown Seattle Public Library, 1000 4th Avenue, in the Microsoft Auditorium. It's free and open to the public. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the program runs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
You can register here, but walk-ins are welcome. The event is cosponsored by The Seattle Times and CityClub. It will be moderated by Times editorial page editor Ryan Blethen and C.R. Douglas of The Seattle Channel.
A second forum will be held tonight starting at 6 p.m. at Lincoln High School in Wallingford (4400 Interlake Avenue N.) That event will include candidates for Seattle Mayor, City Attorney and City Council.
Fremont Chamber of Commerce President Marko Tubic will moderate the event, also free and open to the public. More info here.
The forum is sponsored by a neighborhood and business groups from Wallingford, Fremont, Green Lake, Greenwood, Phinney Ridge and the University District.
