McGinn gets a union nod

Posted by Jim Brunner

So far it's been Joe Mallahan tying up most of the organized labor endorsements in the Seattle mayor's race.

But yesterday, Mike McGinn received the endorsement of one big local union, United Food and Commercial Workers, Local 21. The union represents more than 35,000 workers statewide in grocery, retail and other service industry jobs.

In a statement, Steve Williamson, assistant to the president of UFCW Local 21, praised McGinn as a candidate with experience in local issues and said he'd "advance the lives of working people."
