Larry Phillips has the most cash in King County race

Posted by Keith Ervin

Metropolitan King County Councilmember Larry Phillips leads the crowded pack of county executive candidates when it comes to campaign cash balance.

Phillips showed a balance of $191,701, followed by County Councilmember Dow Constantine with $120,838, in monthly reports filed last week with the state Public Disclosure Commission. The reports showed campaign finances through the end of May.

Former KIRO-TV news anchor Susan Hutchison reported a balance of $94,966, followed by state Rep. Ross Hunter ($86,737) and state Sen. Fred Jarrett, who had only $1,605.
Hunter brought in the most money for the month, $100,316.

Jarrett adviser Rollin Fatland dismissed speculation Friday that Jarrett might step aside and throw his support to his friend Hunter. "Fred is absolutely staying in this race," he said.

Among the less-well-known candidates, engineer Alan Lobdell is $219 in the hole, while investor Goodspaceguy and disbarred attorney Stan Lippmann haven't filed any reports with the PDC.
