Campaign signs stolen, vandalized

Citizens for One Kirkland, a group in favor of the annexation of Kingsgate, Finn Hill and North Juanita into the city of Kirkland, says as many as 90 percent of its 500 yard signs have been stolen or vandalized.

"Our 'Annex Yes!' signs have been specifically targeted," said spokeswoman Johanna Palmer in a prepared statement. She said vandals have defaced a number of the signs as well.

Scott Brady, a spokesman for "No Kirkland Annexation," said his group has lost more than half of its 50-60 signs. He said his group was not responsible for removing pro-annexation signs.
