Obama talks economy, visits 'Letterman' on Monday

President Barack Obama starts the week in New York, where he'll continue his health-care media blitz with another TV appearance.

The Associated Press

WASHINGTON —

President Barack Obama starts the week in New York, where he'll continue his health-care media blitz with another TV appearance.

He'll tape an interview on the "Late Show" with David Letterman. CBS says this will be the show's first visit by a sitting president. Obama has appeared on the Letterman show five times, but this time he's the only guest.

But first, the president travels to upstate Troy, N.Y. There, he'll tour a technology classroom at Hudson Valley Community College with Vice President Joe Biden's wife, Dr. Jill Biden. Obama will speak on the economy.
