Phillips to enter county-exec race
Metropolitan King County Councilmember Larry Phillips, who for months has been considering a run for county executive in November, said Friday he has decided to enter the race.
He hasn't set a date for a formal announcement.
Phillips said he plans to run whether or not the incumbent, fellow Democrat Ron Sims, decides to seek re-election. Phillips, who lives in Seattle, has been on the County Council since 1992.
