OLYMPIA — The state Supreme Court holds a special hearing today on an attempt to prevent Tim Eyman's latest initiative from appearing on the November ballot.

Opponents say I-960 is unconstitutional. Eyman is confident the initiative will go to voters.

The measure would make it harder for state lawmakers to raise taxes by requiring more disclosures and reports on tax plans. It would reassert the requirement for a two-thirds supermajority vote for tax increases. And, it could result in more public votes on taxes.

Eyman is opposed by the Service Employees International Union and the environmental group Futurewise.
