Blue Angels make a practice run above Lake Washington and the Interstate 90 floating bridge Thursday afternoon, July 30, 2009. Downtown Seattle looms in the distance as the six US Navy planes fly-by the city. This view of the Angels was taken with a Canon Mark III camera and a 200mm lens at 1000th/second then cropped on the planes and the city. The image was originally shot as a vertical, then cropped into a horizontal, then cropped even tighter by a photo editor. It was taken from the west shore of Mercer Island south of Interstate 90.
