After her mastectomy, Jackie Floyd chose a tattoo over traditional reconstructive surgery. The scars now blend with morning glory vines and blossom with meaning: "They're both flower and weed, and hard as hell to get rid of." Now when she looks at her body, Floyd sees "more than just a person who has suffered." She sees "a powerful woman who lost her breasts to breast cancer, and she's not ashamed of it — and in fact, she put her own spin on it."
