Faithful worldwide mourn death of John Paul II

Worshipers light candles after learning about the death of Pope John Paul II in front of his former home in Wadowice, southern Poland, Saturday. The pope is deeply loved in mainly Roman Catholic Poland, where his 26-year pontificate served as a source of great national pride and where gratitude is still strong for his role in helping bring down communism and freeing Poland from domination by the Soviet Union.
