New Capitol Visitor Center Opens in Washington

The U.S. Capitol dome is visible through a glass ceiling as a Capitol Police officer watches the opening ceremony for the new Capitol Visitor Center on December 2, 2008 in Washington, DC. The 580,000 square foot facility is located completely underground, beneath the Capitol's East Front.
