Scenes from Thailand's political turmoil

King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit of Thailand review the honor guard during the trooping of the colors to honor the King's 80th birthday at the Royal Plaza on December 2, 2008, in Bangkok, Thailand. Today, the Royal Guards renew their allegiance to the king which masks the start of the King's birthday celebrations. King Bhumibol will turn 81 on December 5, 2008.
