Rebel unrest in the Congo

The rebel National Congress for the Defense of the People (CNDP) leader General Laurent Nkunda poses for a portrait at a CNDP headquarters on November 6, 2008 in Tebero, Democratic Republic of Congo. Over 250,000 people have been displaced after fighting erupted between the rebel CNDP and the army in the last several weeks. According to reports, despite a current ceasefire declared by Nkunda, his forces are still striving to defend the Congo's Tutsi minority from Hutu militias.
