Coretta Scott King is shown in this undated file photo, provided by the New England Conservatory, that was attached to her 1951 application for admission to the school. She studied voice and violin at the conservatory before graduating in 1954. The wife of the late civil rights leader the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. died in her sleep early today. She was 78.
