Language: Hebrew
Discovered: 1952
Date: 1st century B.C.
This scroll provides a record of the Sabbaths — or days of rest, the first days of the months, and the community's festivals. This community used a calendar of 364 days in a year. The sixth line of this scroll fragment reads: "On the 13th of the month is the Sabbath of Hakkoz." "Hakkoz" is a name of a priestly family.
