
The P-I globe
The Seattle Post-Intelligencer's landmark sign since 1948, the globe is 30 feet in diameter, weighs 13.5 tons and stood for years atop the newspaper's former location at Sixth Avenue and Wall Street before the paper moved in 1985 to Elliott Avenue West. The globe was designed by the late Jakk Corsaw, who was a University of Washington art student when he beat out 350 other entrants in a design competition. Read story.
