Built in 1984 on Lower Queen Anne, the white structure was then-owner Anthony Dudvar's unique vision of bulbous walls, odd towers and portholes, variously housing Greek and Mexican restaurants. Then Dudvar ran out of money and "The Blob" sat vacant. Though a few wanted to save it and turn it into a Flintstones-style restaurant, the plan was not exactly greeted with enthusiasm, and in 1997 The Blob was torn down, replaced by an apartment building.
