The bride: Ariel Meadow Stallings, 31, writer, Rainier Beach. Married on Bainbridge Island, Aug. 7, 2004.
The dress: She bought a lime-green organza prom dress on eBay, and daintycore, a Seattle designer, worked pieces of it into the layered skirts of Stallings' gown. The ribbon veil and brocade corset were custom made by indie designer Red Ant. Price: $650 tops.
Why it was "the one:" Besides complementing her green eyes, "it's easy to have 'the one' when you design the whole outfit from scratch."
