Washington's Will Conroy drives the lane uncontested for a layin in first-half action against Arizona State on Feb. 28. The Huskies coasted to a 96-72 victory, their first in Tempe since 1989. Even more significant, it was Washington's first sweep of the Arizona schools on the road since 1984. They had solidly secured second place in the Pac-10 conference and much debate ensued as to whether they deserved to make the field for the NCAA tournament.
