Seattle Times reader Patrick Keller's photo of a young girl wandering by a flower field in the Skagit Valley.

Photographer: Patrick Keller, Mukilteo
Photo taken: April 26, RoozenGaarde, Skagit Valley
Photographer's description: "Photo taken with a Canon Rebel XSi at the 2011 Tulip Festival. Toward the end of the tour, this little girl wandered into my field of vision for a playful shot."
Expert says: "Lovely photo. The little girl adds the human element to the colorful fields of tulips. She gives a point of reference for the viewer to see the height of the tulips. Nice use of long lens. The short depth of field lets the flowers fall out of focus and blend together. One thing I'd watch is the composition. The little boots match the lively color of the flowers and her dress. Ideally, they would be fully visible."
