It's the big weekend for hydroplanes and Blue Angels

Blue Angels in the sky and hydroplanes in the water are the star attractions at the Seafair Hydroplane Races and Air Show Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It's the 60th year of hydroplane racing on Lake Washington, with an onshore party including kids' inflatable rides, entertainment, food vendors and beer gardens. The air show features the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, a hydroplane vs. airplane race, and a flyover by Boeing's long-awaited 787 Dreamliner.
The Blue Angels take off and land from Boeing Field and when not in the air will be on display outside the Museum of Flight, 9404 E. Marginal Way S., Seattle (outdoor events free; museum admission $8-$15, 206-764-5720 or www.museumofflight.org).

Time: Hydroplane events, 8.30 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday-Saturday, 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday; air-show activities throughout each day; Blue Angels scheduled to perform 1:30-2:30 p.m. Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
Cost: Friday admission free; single-day admission Saturday-Sunday, $25/advance, $30/at the gate, $5/ages 65 and older; free for active military and ages 12 and younger with adult; pit pass $10 additional; $12 for Kids Zone rides all-day pass. Grandstand seating $20/Friday, $40/Saturday-Sunday.
Location: Stan Sayres Pits and Genesee Park; entry gates at 43rd Avenue South and South Genesee Street (main gate); Lake Washington Boulevard South near Mount Baker Beach (north gate); and Lake Washington Boulevard South at 49th Avenue South (South Gate). No pets or outside alcoholic beverages.
Getting there: Parking very limited. Several nearby streets closed. Paid shuttle service ($5 round-trip) available Friday-Sunday from Othello Light Rail station, Martin Luther King Jr. Way South between South Myrtle Street and South Othello Street, Seattle; and Saturday-Sunday from Eastgate Park-and-Ride, 14200 S.E. Eastgate Way, Bellevue, about every 15 minutes, from 30 minutes before event gates open until 90 minutes after events end. Metro Transit information: 206-553-3000 or tripplanner.kingcounty.gov.
