The historic Clatsop County Jail, featured in three of the Hollywood movies filmed in Astoria, Ore., re-emerges this June as the Oregon Film Museum. The official opening will take place during "The Goonies" 25th Anniversary weekend, June 4-7, when fans will gather in Astoria to celebrate the Steven Spielberg film. The new museum is dedicated to preserving the art and legacy of Oregon films and filmmaking. One of the highlights is an exhibit in the actual jail cell from "The Goonies," as well as mementos and props from other motion pictures made in Astoria and across Oregon. For more information, contact Clatsop County Historical Society at 503-325-2203.
