ARVADA, Colo. —

Prosecutors have filed a charge of criminally negligent homicide against an Arvada teen who was driving a car that fatally injured a skateboarder.

Jefferson County District Attorney Scott Storey announced the charge Wednesday. The teen driver's name hasn't been released.

Prosecutors say the teen was driving a Ford Mustang that ran over Ryan Bailey on Feb. 25 while Bailey was "skitching" — holding onto the car while riding his skateboard. Bailey died of his injuries.

Both Bailey and the driver attended Ralston Valley High School. Both were 16.

Prosecutors say it was the second skitching death in Arvada in four months.
