Photographer: Morgan Lee, Bellevue
Photo taken: Dec. 14, my front yard
Photographer's description: "A look at plants in my front yard in the morning after a dusting of fresh snow. Shot with a Nikon D90."
Expert says: "Capturing beauty in your own yard is one way photography can make everyday life more fun! In this photo, simple curves and subtle colors of the grass are outlined in snow and delicate pieces of ice balance on top of the blades. Overall, the photographer used clean composition and a properly balanced exposure to turn this scene into a lovely nature picture."
— Jessica Oyanagi, Seattle Times photo-production specialist
