Photographer: Will Braden, Seattle
Photo taken: Nov. 22, off Alki Point, Seattle
Photographer's description: "I was out on my friend's boat, and I saw these [sea lions] basking in the sun. We drove closer to get some photos, and they loved the attention. It was a gorgeous clear day, and the skyline looked amazing behind them, so I had to send it in!"
Expert says: "These round, organic Alki Beach sea lions meet the man-made architecture of Seattle's skyline with a sense of humor and nonchalance. The photographer recognized this juxtaposition and composed his photo so we are able to see this relationship easily. Photography is a great tool for highlighting visual comparisons and this image proves it!"
