The Summit at Snoqualmie says it has won U.S. Forest Service approval for an expansion and improvements to the ski resort.
The Summit plans to build six chairlifts and three surface lifts; some will be new, others will be replacements of existing lifts. It also plans to expand night skiing, add a mountain-top restaurant and improve visitor-services lodges.
As part of the agreement, the resort is donating nearly 500 acres to the Forest Service for conservation.
