Deck out yourself and your space for the upcoming holiday season at special sale events this weekend.
Seattle Goodwill Glitter Sale, one of the biggest events of the year at Goodwill's flagship store, features glamorous gowns, jewelry, shoes and men's formalwear. There are no dressing rooms, so wear a leotard or bathing suit so you can check out the fit of your fab new gear.
Everyone loves a bargain, so expect crowds and come early for best selection. Besides looking good and saving money, you'll collect on good karma, since the sale benefits Goodwill's job-training programs.
Arts and crafts for gift-giving and brightening up your living space abound at the Best of the Northwest sale, featuring fiber arts, home and yard décor, paintings, photography and sculpture by more than 200 artists at Seattle Center this weekend.
For a day-trip shopping outing, Lummi Island Artists' Holiday Studio Tour offers paintings, pottery, jewelry, glass, sculpture and more by 20 artists at 14 venues around Lummi Island, the most northeasterly of the San Juan Islands. In Whatcom County about a two-hour drive from Seattle, scenic Lummi is accessed via a six-minute ride on a small ferry.
Inside Northwest Weekend, Datebook provides information on craft fairs, bazaars and art sales near and far today and throughout the holiday season.
