Festivals at the base of Mount Si, in scenic Edmonds and celebrating the Good Ol' Days in Auburn provide close-to-home outdoor fun and entertainment to the east, north and south of Seattle this weekend.
• The Festival at Mount Si offers something for everyone and his dog, with Stupid Pet Tricks, a dog-agility demo and a dog beauty pageant, along with arts and crafts vendors, entertainment on two stages, a beer garden and a kids' fun zone all weekend. Saturday starts with a pancake breakfast and ends with a fireworks show. Sunday features a car show, skate jam and chili cook-off.
• The Taste of Edmonds features ever-popular festival food, from Aussie onions to Ziegler's bratwurst among a long list of vendors offering tasty treats of all kinds. Entertainment in the beer garden, wine garden and kids' stage and lots of arts and crafts and commercial vendors continue throughout the event.
• Auburn's Good Ol' Days Festival kicks off with a 5K fun run, entertainment and a community barbecue Friday night. Arts and crafts vendors, entertainment and kids' activities continue all day Saturday and Sunday, with special events Saturday including a parade at noon, model-airplane and boat exhibitions, and Saturday-night street dance with "The Fabulous Murphtones."
