The Edgewater Hotel, Seattle waterfront

Your room: The Edgewater, a landmark hotel on the Seattle waterfront where the Beatles stayed in 1964. You used to be able to fish from your window, but no more. Now a luxury lodge, the hotel has 223 rooms, all with gas fireplaces and about half with views directly overlooking Elliott Bay. Dinner: You're on the waterfront. Eat like a fisherman. Lots of choices, but you can always dine in style inside or on the outdoor patio at the Fish Club. Breakfast: Ride the free bus or walk to the Pike Place Market, and have your eggs with a water view at Lowell's. Make your choice in the cafeteria line at the entrance and claim a table on the third floor where the views are the best. Someone will deliver your order.
