Pike Place Market Street Festival

There's something for everyone and his dog at this weekend's Pike Place Market Street Festival, starting with the parades that kick off both days.

The Seahawks Blue Thunder drum line and local drill teams open the festival in exuberant style Saturday morning, and Sunday starts with a dog parade, both at 10 a.m. Pike Place will be closed to vehicles and taken over by vendors, entertainment stages and the Redwood Creek Wine Lodge and Beer Garden, where you can tip back a Pike Brewing Company Kilt Lifter or Naughty Nellie Ale.

Main Stage entertainment features the preteen, all-girl rock group Starstruck, upbeat classics with Rainy City Riff Raff, and soul and R&B with Kim Archer Band on Saturday; and Beatles tribute band New Brittins, and rockabilly and early country with the Roy Kay Trio on Sunday. Also look for live jazz, country blues, rock and world music on stage 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday. Steinbrueck Park will be transformed into a Kids Zone 11 a.m.-3 p.m. both days, with Zucchini 500 races, arts and craft activities, music and a bounce house.

Show your dog off at the Strut Your Mutt parade and contests with prizes Sunday morning in Steinbrueck Park.

The Market's regular shops and vendors are open all weekend.

Entry cost: Suggested $1 donation to benefit Market community-service agencies. Strut Your Mutt entry fee $5.
