We received loads of tips on the Northwest's best honeymoon hideaways. We presented some of them the past two weeks, the rest today, appropriately, on Valentine's Day.
• "Stormking Spa and Cabins (37311 Highway 706, Ashford) has secluded cabins in the woods, private hot tubs, deer looking in the windows in the morning, and it's close to home. It doesn't get more Northwest romantic than this." — Jeri Lloyd, Seattle
• "My husband Gary and I spent a romantic second anniversary at the Alderbrook Resort and Spa (101 East State Route 106, Union). The room was cozy, the view spectacular and the restaurant amazing. My husband, the executive chef of Remlinger Farms, declared the breakfast room service the best ever." — Lori Asmus, Snohomish
• "Our first weekend getaway was to Ravenscroft Inn (533 Quincy St., Port Townsend). A wonderful bed-and-breakfast. Atmosphere was very romantic, food was great, and Port Townsend is a beautiful town in which to spend a weekend." — Elizabeth Vernon, Seattle
• "North Beach Inn (Orcas Island) has a beachside rental cabin called the Blue Moon. This was our honeymoon suite in the early '40s. The cabin was built in the early '30s when the resort first opened. It is much the same little studio rustic cabin, except it has an electric hot water tank instead of water being heated through pipes in the fireplace. Bob and I have returned several times a year, especially on our anniversary, which will be No. 61 this year. The cabin doesn't have a phone or TV, so the hustle and bustle of the city is left behind; only beautiful views of the north Sound and mountains. The day can be spent walking the beach looking for agates, watching the sea birds or the ships heading for Vancouver, then a beautiful sunset prior to a cozy fire on the beach." — Norma Jean Beierl Jr., Seattle
• "The Landmark Inn (Orcas Island) doesn't seem that romantic, but look again. Each unit has a full condo-style apartment with a fireplace, kitchen and most have sweeping views of the water and sky. Walking distance to Christina's for a romantic (again, water view) dinner for two, and the beautiful Madrona Point for light hiking, biplane rides at the airport, and all the peace you could ever want. We spent both our wedding and 25th anniversary there!" — Mary Osborn-Dixon, Everett
• "Though didn't honeymoon here, have had many second honeymoons at the Log Inn (Leavenworth) on Nason Creek. Between the river-rock fireplace for cuddling up in front of, the claw foot bathtub for bubble baths, the double swing out by the fire pit for toasting marshmallows, or the hot tub on the deck overlooking the creek, it is just the perfect couple place." — Glenda Ritter, Wenatchee
• "The attic atop the turret of the The Fairmont Empress (Victoria, B.C.). It's completely private, unique and the view is outstanding. Each of the five rooms in the turret is done differently. You have to ask for it, and it's well worth it. Very romantic. Like in a furnished treehouse." — Pat Dooley, Edmonds
• "The Inn at Langley (Whidbey Island) is marvelous. While languishing in the Jacuzzi tub you can enjoy views of the water and a fire burning in the bedroom fireplace. Take a nice stroll on the beach and sample the fare in Langley. The Inn at Langley is a relaxing and romantic place." — Chris Martin, Seattle
