Just in time for Valentine planning, we asked readers for favorite honeymoon hideaways.

• "I love the honeymoon cabin at Illahee Manor Bed & Breakfast Estate (6680 Illahee Road N.E., Bremerton). It was built from the wood on the property by the original owner and is a cozy place for two to snuggle up and enjoy a romantic interlude. The managers are great at making sure your unique requests are met, too."

Robb Zerr, Melbourne, Fla.

• "We spent our wedding night at Thornewood Castle (8601 N. Thorne Lane S.W., Lakewood, Pierce County). We stayed in the Presidential Suite. The room had a tall four-poster bed, 16th century stained-glass window insets, a Jacuzzi tub and a lovely view of American Lake. We felt as though we were visiting some remote Bavarian estate." — Cathy Hall, Tacoma

• "Big Red Barn Bed and Breakfast (309 V St., Port Townsend) has a great Jacuzzi, comfy bed and a cute yard. The best part is that it's a two-minute walk to Fort Worden State Park and a picnic on the beach." — Sarah Keller, Kalama

• "My husband and I spent our eight-day honeymoon (and also our fifth anniversary) at Humboldt House Bed and Breakfast Inn (867 Humboldt St., Victoria, B.C.). Delicious breakfast delivered to your room in a wicker basket, wood-burning fireplace, Jacuzzi tub, walking distance to all the interesting things in downtown Victoria. Very romantic!" — Michelle Walter, Bothell

• "The Shelburne Inn (4415 Pacific Way, Seaview) is [among] the oldest hotels in Washington. Rooms are furnished with antiques. No room phones or TVs. Gourmet breakfast included. Many fine dining experiences nearby including The Shoalwater Restaurant in the hotel."

Jim Harris, Issaquah
