Christmas spirit bursts into song at the popular Great Figgy Pudding Street Corner Caroling Competition Friday in downtown Seattle. Zany fun is guaranteed, with Most Original Performance and People's Choice awards at least as sought-after as Best Choral Performance by more than 40 caroling teams. Adding to the spirit of the event, all proceeds benefit the Pike Market Senior Center and the Downtown Food Bank, with a Figlanthropy award to the teams that raise the most money and the Get Figgy With It prize for the team that collects the most money in its donation box the evening of the competition.
Returning favorites at this year's event include the Puget Sound Barbershop Holiday Chorus, the Starbucks Coffee Choir, Qwestones and LLEW Crew. Arrive early for some "pre-figgy entertainment" on the main stage at Westlake Center before the caroling competition at 6:15 p.m. and awards ceremony and main stage show 7:30-8:30 p.m. Friday.
Other holiday festivities downtown include the Holiday Wonderland Carousel in Westlake Park, the daily snowfall show in Pacific Place and the "Holidays Around The World" gingerbread village at Sheraton Seattle Hotel and Towers. Seattle Center Winterfest activities are a 5-minute Monorail ride away from the Westlake Center station.
Another popular local tradition, the Green Lake Pathway of Lights with lumiarias and music along the trail around the lake, is 5:30-8:30 p.m. Saturday.

Great Figgy Pudding Street Corner Caroling Competition
Time: pre-show entertainment 5-6 p.m., competition 6:15-7:15 p.m., performances and award ceremony, 7:30-8:30 p.m. Friday.
Cost: free, donations for Pike Market Senior Center and Downtown Food Bank appreciated.
Location: Westlake Park, on Pine Street between Fourth and Fifth Avenues, Seattle.
