We asked readers to tell us about their favorite places in Port Townsend.
• "We stay at the Tides Inn (1807 Water St., www.tidesinn.com). It is wonderful to sit in your Jacuzzi over the water and bird watch. Our favorite dining is at The Belmont Hotel (925 Water St.). Lunch is Jordini's Subs (929 Water St.). Shop at Zee Tai (Water St.) and Abracadabra (936 Water St.)." — Paulette Blair, Woodinville.
• " My favorite place to shop is The Perfect Season (918 Water St.) It has those items for garden and home that you can't find elsewhere." — Anne Metcalfe, Port Townsend.
• "Breakfast at Salal Cafe (634 Water St.) for blueberry muffins; Elevated Ice Cream and Candy Shop (627 Water St.) for clean low-fat ice cream and premium chocolate; Shop at The Green Eyeshade (720 Water St.) and Artisans on Taylor (236 Taylor St.)." — Carol M. Cook, Seattle.
• "Start out wine tasting at FairWinds Winery (1984 Hastings Ave. W.) and Sorensen Cellars (274 S. Otto St.) on your way into town. Have lunch at Silverwater Cafe (237 Taylor St.), then browse for cool earrings at William's Gallery (914 Water St.) and Wynwoods Gallery and Bead Studio (940 Water St.). Chetzemoka Park (900 Jackson St.) is a hidden jewel uptown, with great play areas, picnic sites and gorgeous views." — Martha Patterson, Silverdale.
