Since the debut of our "Pix From My Weekend" feature, the weekly selection of reader photos has fallen primarily to one Seattle Times photo editor, who has offered an "Expert Says" critique each week. Here's the woman behind the words: Barbara Kinney, Features picture editor for The Seattle Times since 2004, was formerly a White House photographer during the Clinton Administration. Her photographs have appeared on the covers of Time and Newsweek and in publications worldwide. In 1996, Kinney received a first-place award from the World Press Photo Foundation for her photograph of President Clinton, Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and Jordan's King Hussein straightening their ties in a mirror before a White House event, with Yasser Arafat looking on. American Photo Magazine listed it as one of "The Photos of the Century." Kinney, 48, also formerly worked for Reuters News Service and USA Today. She has taught photography classes at American University and Gallaudet University. Born and raised in Evansville, Ind., she graduated in 1980 from the William Allen White School of Journalism at the University of Kansas. Copyright © 2006 The Seattle Times Company
